A file won't process or search finds nothing

Fix files that are rejected or slow to analyse, and searches that return no results.

Recover when a file will not attach or finish analysing, or when a search comes back empty.

Steps

A file will not attach

  1. You can attach up to 5 files per message, each up to 25 MB.
  2. Allowed types include PDF, Word (docx), PowerPoint (pptx), Excel (xlsx, xls), CSV, text, Markdown, HTML, JSON, XML, ZIP, EPUB, common images, and common audio files. If a type is not allowed, the message lists the invalid files.
  3. Remove oversized or unsupported files and attach again with Attach files.

A file is slow or not ready

  1. Large files and image-heavy decks are analysed in the background.
  2. If you send a follow-up while a file is still being analysed, you can choose Send now, Wait for analysis, or Edit message.
  3. If you see "File processing is not ready for ...", wait and try again. If you see "File upload or processing failed.", re-attach the file.

A search finds nothing

  1. In the chat list, Search chats... only matches chats in the current workspace. Switch workspace if needed.
  2. Choose Clear search to see everything, then try fewer or different words.
  3. For the web, turn on Search web for that message. It resets after each reply.

Expected result

Your file shows as analysed and the reply uses it, or your search returns the chats you expect.

Tips

  • Split very large documents into smaller files.
  • Keep one topic per chat so it is easier to find later.
